The Easter Egg
Eggs have symbolized rebirth and fertility for centuries. Early Christians, began using Easter eggs to symbolize the tomb from which life, Christ’s resurrected life, would emerge. As a believer, I love to have these reminders around the home for this season.
One: Easter Eggs in the Entry Way
The first reminder is found in my entry way. he little eggs in the nest were gifted to me by my sweet mother in law, Mary. They are a treasure!
Here’s another look at the entry table, circa 2022! Here I’ve topped the large candlesticks with the large ceramic Easter Eggs.
Two: Large Ceramic Eggs on the Coffee Table
In the living room, I’ve grouped several of the same large ceramic eggs on the coffee table.
Three: Easter Eggs on the Dining Room Table
Last year, these eggs were a large-scale topping to each of the tablesettings. This is an editiorial look for sure. Left in place, where on earth woud you put the Easter ham and potato salad?
Chinoiserie Inspired Spring Tablescape
This year’s Easter Table looks quite a bit different. Jelly beans were the inspiration for the casual tablescape. Pastel china and linens soften the chinoiserie inspired floor length cheetah tablecloth I made this winter.
Four: The China Cabinet gets Egged for Easter
If you’re not decorated inside your china cabinet for the holidays and seasons, you’re missing out. I love to add little, or large, touches of the season inside.
Five: Place Easter Decor on the Sideboard/Buffet
The hurricanes and candles that are usually found on these large vintage brass candlesticks were replaced with the same large scale ceramic Easter Eggs echoed throught the main floor. I made these fern filled candle wrings with twig wreaths and greens.
We are truly blessed beyond measure. Today we celebrate a Risen Savior!
