This post contains 3 Easy Steps to go from Chinoiserie Spring to Easter Tablescape.

Chinoserie Spring to Easter Tablescape

Today I’m joining a new to me group of talented bloggers to present our Easter Table Designs. They will be linked below; I hope you will check them all out. I You can read more about me HERE.

Easter is a great day of celebration, a glorious day of Resurrection. The symbolism is all around us in all the beauties of natures rebirth.

A small way that I share the beautiful day with family and friends, is to gather at the dining table. I find joy making the tablescape reflect the re-birth of nature, thus celebrating that “He Is Risen”.

Today, I will share with you how I transitioned my Chinosierie Spring Tablescape to an Easter Tablescape just be adding a few touches from my Easter decor stash.

Chinoiserie Spring to Easter Tablescape – Before and After

Here’s a side by side of the Spring Tablescape that I transformed with ease to an Easter Tablescape.

The dining room in my home is set and ready to entertain 95% of the time. It is a hobby and great pleasure of mine, to mix and match all the lovely table items and create something beautiful.

Here is an Easter DIY post that you might like to try for your Dining Room Table.

Chinoiserie Spring Tablescape

Initially, I put a tablescape together for Spring with the idea to bring the colorful colors from my Spring Entryway and Living Room into the space . I write about those rooms here: Spring Ideas for the Southern Chinoiserie Home

5 Chinoiserie Spring Tablescape Items

  1. Focal Point – Floral Centerpiece
  2. Vintage Silver Accent Pieces
  3. Mix Vintage China – Family Heirloom and Estate Sale Finds
  4. Antique Glassware
  5. Fun Linens
Colorful Ginger Jar Centerpiece with Faux Peonies

You may recognize this turquoise ginger jar. I showed how easy it can be to transform a vintage jar with spray paint. Here’s the link to the post: How to Spray Paint a Ginger Jar BTW: I will put together a post with a three step guide to easily receate this faux flower look.

Spring Tablescape

Stacks on stacks of beautiful dishes were next. First off, I used vintage silver serving platters as chargers. You’ve seen me do this before, and loved it.

Table Setting – The Layers

The layers: cobalt blue chargers, family china dinner plates, more cobalt blue, more family china, a vintage Arcoroc tuquoise bowl, and then finally my Royal Tetttau demitasse cup and saucer set. Too much? Don’t answer that. You do as many or as few of these layers as makes you happy. I will source similar items to create this tablescape. I’ve collected these charger one at a time over years. Many of the items you can collect one or two at a time.

Demitasse Rose Tea Cup and Vintage China with Silver Platter

The vintage peacock blue carnival glasses and stemware work so seamlessly with my chinoiserie, southern, “chinosoutherie” style. Then, with all the formality of the silver, china and antique glasses, my casual aqua colored gingham linens are a great complient and finish off the Chinoiserie Spring Tablescape.

Chinoiserie Spring to Easter Tablescape

Going from the Spring Tablescape to an Easter themed table setting was as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Add Easter Focal Point – Ceramic Bunny or Basket
  2. Top the Easter Place Setting with a Suprise
  3. Sprinkle Easter Decor Around the Tabletop – Oversized Eggs and Mini Vintage Bunnies

Easter Focal Point Center Piece

Peter has been a focal point of our home at Easter for several years. You can find him in the family room on this post: Three Darling Low Budget Tips for Decorating at Easter . He was on the dining table again last year, carring fun jelly beans: Make Easter Decorating Easy

Again, this year he joins the Spring Floral Centerpiece to command the focus of the Easter Table Setting.

Larger Ceramic Easter Bunny and Turquoise Ginger Jar

Top The Easter Place Setting with a Surpise

The tiniest tea cups were filled to the brim with paper mache glitter eggs. I didn’t make these, but there are hundreds of blog posts out there with directions for making them. Of course, you could really be a hero and fill those cups with chocolate bunnies, peeps, jelly beans, or candy!

Sprinkle Easter Decor Around The Table

The final couple of transformational steps include adding my oversized ceramic Easter eggs to the table. I grouped them in a couple places on the table. Then, I added the most diminutive vintage bunnies to the table. You could add stuffed animal bunnies or chicks for a more kid friendly table.
