Week One Week Two Week Three

Week Four of the Better Homes and Garden – One Room Challenge is fastly bleeding into Week Five. I’ve hit “the wall”. My heart is heavy and my mind is racing with the state of the world and our nation. Writing is difficult, and will be shorter than usual.

The BHG ORC group graciously give us through Sunday to complete the week’s blog post, but I’ve always tried to make it on the first day of link up’s which is Thursday. Trying not to be too hard on myself and just say, I’m happy to be sharing a glance at The Furniture Edition.

But first, a look at:

You may also want to visit this blog post, Lacquered Furniture DIY – Six Simple Steps, which describes the process.

Mid-Century Swan Cocktail Table

You’ll find another furniture piece: Lacquered Furniture Statement Piece – Week Two, that was completed for the 2019 Fall ORC.

Lacquered Vanity and Black Knobs

As I write this, I have one more quite large piece of furniture that is still to be lacquered. So the finish line for the furniture is in sight. However, several pieces are in the curing phase. Lacquer and High Gloss Enamel has to cure for 48 hours before a second coat can be applied if needed. Then a full week is recommended before you can place anything on it, or attach hardware. We are in the one week waiting phase which allowed, shall we say, some creative photography.

The Headboard

The reveal post will go into more detail on the headboard, and show you some before and afters. For now…

The Mirror

One of two identical mirrors that will be in the room.

The Dresser

Not all the furniture in the room is high gloss. To ground the room and balance what might be considered a feminine palatte, I added a few pieces of bamboo furniture.

The Settee

Design is always at it’s best when used in threes. The second piece of bamboo can be peeked at the foot of the bed. The third….be patient.

Hopefully this is enough to keep you coming back. Perhaps just to see if there is anyway this montage can come together in a pleasing design.

Enjoy Today!
Love y’all (mean it),
