Week 2 was big on planning and small on completing projects. But, here’s a look at the progress on this Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge.

Finalizing the color scheme was the first order of business in Week 2. You may recall from WEEK ONE’s POST that I decided the very last minute to join the fun. Thankfully, BHG, ORC has extended the typical six week challenge to eight weeks, so I don’t feel behind. YET!

Chinoiserie Master Bedroom Color Story

Inspiration Item One

A few years ago I purhased a couple of throw pillows in a colorful cheetah print design from Kate Spade.

At the time, I was using the kelly green as an accent in the living room and dining room. You can see a little peek of the pillows on the Chinoiserie Christmas Post.

Currently, the only space on the main floor where I have any green is in the powder room seen here: Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge – Fall 2019 – Prettify the Privy.

The green tone for the Chinoiserie Master Bedroom Makeover will not be as rich. We will tone it down ever so slightly so that we can sleep at night.

Inspiration Item Two

This beautiful Mun Shou Familia Rose tea cup also serves as inspiration for the color palate. If you were not a rabid fan of Chinoiserie, you might call this tiffany blue. My feelings would not be hurt by that comment at all. This week I will be determining how this color will be represented in this room, beyond a sweet vintage cup.
