There’s nothing quite like a fall flower and pumpkin filled front porch to welcome guests or inspire and encourage everyone who passes by on the sidewalk or street.
I feel that way.
Do you?
I know we all go out to view the Christmas Lights through out that beautiful season, but I have to admit to you, I’ve been known to take a day tour through local neighborhoods just to enjoy the front porches and lawns adorned with fall flowers and fall harvest.

Can you get a beautiful look for your fall front porch without filling the space with mums and pumpkins?
Mums are definitely the darling flower of fall, but you don’t have to fill the space with them to get a beautiful fall look. (Although, I’m pretty sure if you do, it would be stunning. Just look at this display in my home state of Tennessee at the Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Art Museum in Nashville. Find their blog here.)

The same is true for pumpkins! Although, I’ve seen stunning pumpkin displays! Just pumpkins! (Again, find these beautiful pumpkin displays at Cheekwood of Nashville, Tennessee.

My personal preference is to mix fall flowers (mums, coneflowers, coleus, kale, celosia…) with pumpkins and gourds of varying sizes and colors. You can also add fall wreaths and signs to complete the welcoming look.

Are there any tried and true color combinations for the fall front porch?
Traditional fall colors of orange, brown, and golds are always going to be available for you. They are abundant in nature at this time of year, and will make a gorgeous fall front porch. Driving down our quaint little King Lane, you will find all the fall color schemes represented. Thank goodness we have COLOR and lots of it.
